Why you should watch it ☝️
I have to admit, I hadn’t really heard of “regenerative innovation” prior to meeting Jeremy Thomas. (If your first thought has something to do with regrowing limbs, you wouldn’t be alone.) After interviewing Jeremy, however, it’s become clear that he’s not interested in just regrowing a limb.
Jeremy wants to regrow the entire planet. And he’s using decades-worth of innovation and design thinking knowledge to make it happen.
In this episode, he calls out how most innovation work, even when well-meaning, ends up draining the systems it touches. Efficiency and speed are often rewarded, but they leave behind fragility. Jeremy offers a different approach: one that focuses on encouraging innovators and businesses to give our planetary ecosystem a seat at the table.
He shares what this looks like inside large-scale systems that are under pressure. How to work without defaulting to extractive tools. How to build capability without burning people out. How to grow integrity without relying on charisma or one-off wins.
Innovation should not be another layer of damage. It should repair the ground it stands on.
